About our German classes

German has a reputation for difficulty that is mostly a teaching problem. Cases, genders and word order follow patterns, and once the pattern is visible the language becomes predictable in a way English never is. We teach the system rather than asking you to memorise its outputs.

Coursework runs A1 through B1 on the CEFR ladder and aligns with the Goethe-Institut exams, which are what German universities, employers and several visa routes ask to see. Classes are online, 1:1 or small-batch, scheduled around your work or study.

We encourage flexible learning, providing 1:1 sessions and small batches that fits your schedule.

German classes — common questions

Which German levels do you teach?
A1, A2 and B1, with Goethe-aligned preparation alongside them.
Do you prepare students for the Goethe exam?
Yes. Coursework is aligned to the Goethe format across reading, listening, writing and speaking.
What German level do I need to study or work in Germany?
It varies by university, employer and visa route — commonly A1 or A2 for a visa stage and B1 or higher for study and most workplaces. Tell us your target and we will teach toward that level specifically.
Is German really as hard as people say?
It is front-loaded rather than hard. The grammar you meet early looks intimidating and then stops surprising you, which is the opposite of languages that start easy and get murky.
